Richard Byworth
Co-founder and Managing Partner, BYZ Partners
Richard Byworth is a Switzerland-based investment executive with 27 years of experience across traditional finance, alternative investments, and digital assets, built through senior roles in London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
At Nomura, he was Managing Director and Head of Multistrategy Sales, structuring and syndicating Pan-Asian equity-linked derivatives and convertible bonds for hedge funds and institutional clients. Among these was the $2 billion China Unicom convertible bond — one of the largest transactions in Asia at the time. He went on to serve as CEO of Eqonex Group, where he built a vertically integrated digital asset business and took it public on Nasdaq via a SPAC. As Managing Partner and Head of Liquid Alternatives at Syz Capital, he launched the firm's digital asset funds, chairing the investment committees of growing them past $500 million in aggregate assets under management within two years, and hosted Syz the Future, a podcast on global challenges and their solutions and capital allocation within that framing.
Today he is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of BYZ Partners, an alternative asset manager focused on stability and growth. He sits on the board of Relai, a Swiss-based European bitcoin brokerage, advises Jan3 on bitcoin nation-state strategy, and serves as Board Advisor to XCE: Connecting Excellence, a UK-listed executive search firm pursuing a bitcoin treasury strategy. He is a frequent speaker on capital markets structuring and strategy in the bitcoin treasury space.
He studied at Royal Holloway, University of London, and ESC Montpellier.
